"Upon doing some research on the web on Boerboels, I decided to Give Meyer Blue Kennels a call.
From the many sights I visited MBK has the most beautifull breed of Boerboel I have seen in the United States. This is my opinion, your intitled to yours.

Looking over the websight I had deciced that I wanted a fawn, from Kabuki. Again just my personal preference.

My next step was to call and ask questions. Samantha answered all my questions, she is one heluva business woman and incredible breeder, as I screened her, she unknowingly was screening me. Samantha wants to make sure her dogs are going to a good home. I quickly figured out that Meyer Blue Kennels was a very good breeder, and cared emencly for what they do.

Long story short. I purchased a female Boerboel form Meyer Blue Kennels, and couldn't be happier with the service or the pup that was sent to me. I gave Samantha all the qualities I was looking for in a dog, and by the grace of God she provided me with a that pup.

The dogs demeaner is incredible It does take a lil bit of training of course, but the more time you spend with your Boerboel the more they learn.. My dog Buki at 6 months was already sitting, laying down, and speaking.. You think thats easy sure,, but my dog learned to do it with hand gestres. The Boerboel is an incredibly intelligent dog.

At first I was a lil concerned about my daughter and this animal, but as time went onn they became close friends, Buki would sit, lay down, and go to her cage if my daughter ask her to, My daughter is 3 years old.. Buki some how knows my daughter is an todler, and plays cautiously around her and with her.

I would highly recomend Meyer Blue Kennels to anyone who asked me. For me noone comes close."

Samantha,
WE LOVE HIM!
RIO IS SO CUTE!

He was a little scared and shakey when we picked his up but as soon as we got him home, he started playing and running and jumping around! He loves his little stuffed dog (thinks its his brother Haha) and his mini squeaky tire. (Just a few of his toys) Get's along with all the other animals np. After all his shenanigans, he walked straight into his crate and lay down and fell asleep.
He is so cute and so loved!
Thank you!
We'll send updates and pix along the way!

Samantha,
Jimmy has been a great addition to our family. He fits right in. He listens great for such a little guy. He sits and lays down already on command. It took him a day to come out of the flying shock. We also nick named him the cookie monster for the way he eats his food.

Hello Samantha,

Just want everyone to know what a great breed of dog the Boerboel is...My husband and I are the proud "Grandparents" of "Kayah" from Hollywood, Florida...When our son, David, told us about purchasing a Boerboel, we never even heard about the breed...He did his investigating and found Meyer Blue Kennels and fabulous Samantha...When Kayah came to Florida we immediately fell in "love" with her...She is amazing smart animal...Quick to obey and train…Quick to win your heart...She comes to Grandpop and Grandmoms house to swim...We have never seen a dog jump from the steps of the pool, at least 10 ft. into the water into the arms of Grandpop...(He s afraid she might drown)...Shes learning how to swim better now, but it was a battle to make Grandpop let go of her…The Newman family highly recommend Samatha , and Meyer Blue Kennels for an excellent breed of dog...We as "Grandparents" of Kayah want to thank Samantha for our special, Grandbaby Girl Kayah...

Congrats Rob and Angie Roberts with their new girl Shooter!!!!

I stumbled on the Boerboel breed by accident. I was surfing the net looking up large dog info for a friend and found a Boerboel site.  I have a strong preference for large dogs and an attachment to South Africa so I started digging.  Everything I found told me more that this was what I wanted.  Several phone calls, a couple of breeder visits and a gazillion computer electrons later, I found MB and Sam. She was extremely helpful and patient and totally enthusiastic about the breed. She gave me the plusses and minuses and pointed me at more information sites. I was hooked.
It took about a year to get my schedule, my wife's schedule, and puppy availability all together and Sam even cancelled a personal appointment to show me the dogs on a last-minute-decision to drive down to Victoria.   I drove back down and met Shooter and fell in love a month ago. We started bonding on the trip back to El Paso. When I wouldn't let her drive she sat on the center console and navigated. After many lengthy discussions, and acceptance by her resident human-checkers, Sam picked exactly the right puppy for me.
Shooter is bright, lovable, adaptable, happy, mischievous, alert, manipulative, and smart!!! These ain't cockapoos or minpins, boys and girls. She is a day-to-day, ok minute-to-minute, challenge and joy. At just under 4 months old, she's learning basic commands, verbal and hand, she hits her crate when she hears "LOCKDOWN", housebreaking is proceeding well, she has learned which of our cats will play and which ones won't, she has made a companion of our Humane Society 2-year-old Aussie mix, she has discovered which poses and expressions have the most effect of soft-hearted humans, she doesn't whine in the crate unless she REALLY has to go, and she does NFL-class open field tackles if your attention wanders too much. I used to joke about previous dogs, "You'll do until I get a real dog!", that saying is history.
Boerboels aren't for everybody. Talk to owners and breeders before you make a commitment. They are large, strong, smart, and resourceful. They are companions, guardians, and friends. They are not pets. I'm 66 years old, retired Navy, and was getting a little sedentary around the edges. Since Shooter arrived, my weight and blood pressure have gone down and my condition and attitude have gone up.  The only down sides are replacing chewed things before my wife finds out and explaining that she (Shooter, not my wife) is NOT a Boxer on Steroids.
So I'm wordy, no apologies. This is  about 1% of what I could say about Boerboels, MeyerBlue, and Sam.  In one line:
MeyerBlue is a damn good breeder, Sam is damn good people and they produce damn good dogs.
If you want it personally, or to see my Boerboel, I'll tell Sam to tell you how to contact me directly.

Samantha from Meyer Blue Kennels was one of the best breeders that I have come across. I spoke to many different breeders before deciding to go with her and I can tell you that she outshines the rest. If you are looking for a breeder who truly cares about the animals themselves and not the profit from breeding, she is the one to go with. She takes her time out and is in constant contact with you letting you know what’s going on with your pup. She is always willing to answer a question for you and will go to extra mile to help you feel comfortable. We love Leo and he is everything she promised! I highly recommend her.

Thanks Sam!

Hi Samantha,

I just wanted to let you know how well Sadie is doing.  She is growing like a weed I took her back to the Vet and in 1 month she gained 18 pounds and is already over 30 pounds.  She is so smart and knows how to lay down just by hand signals.  We are starting our training on the leash and she is taking to it very well.  We just enjoy her company so much.  She is a wonderful addition to our family and has such a sweet temperament.  My mother-in-law uses a cane and she was so gentle with her and is excellent with all my grandchildren.  I am so pleased with how sweet she is.  We just love her and I just wanted to keep you posted on her development.  I will try to send more pictures next month.

Hi Sam~

This is Beth, Vince Hansen's wife. We bought "porkchop" back in May. I just wanted to send you an email so you can see how beautiful he is growing up to be!!

He is Skye's (my step-daughter, Vince's daughter) puppy when she is here. (we get her for the summer and every other holiday.) And they are completely inseparable. He wants to be where she is at at all times and he sleeps with her every night. She does get frustrated with him on occasion because he is still in that puppy "I have to bite/chew everything" phase. (He has put a few holes in her clothes that I've had to fix.) But he is a complete joy. He is so fun to watch and has us laughing every day. He loves his "sister" Kali. (our shep/chow mix) They are always playing together now. (much better than when we first introduced him into our family!) He bounces around on his hind legs when he gets super excited or when he really really wants to play. He is still a phenomenal eater but we have him trained to sit and wait until we are done placing his food into his bowl and we say ok before he gets to chow down. He used to try and plow us over to get to his food...

He will begin puppy obedience this fall. (The only place we have found near here though, really only does the leash training. We would like to have him in more extensive training. Any good recommendations for near Leesville, LA?)

He sleeps in the oddest positions, we wonder how he can be comfortable? I have attached one of his "positions". He lays like this or he will even lay completely on his back with his paws up in the air...it's really cute. And he is such a snorer!! It's going to be worse when he reaches full size...but we love him just the same!

He is already showing his protective side. His bark changes tone completely when something or someone he doesn't know is near our house...but yet, when he is outside going potty, he will run across the street to say hi to all the construction workers...we now put him on a chain immediately when we go outside. We don't want him getting hit by a car.

Just wanted to send you some pictures of our beautiful Jengo Jackson Hansen. He is such a joy and has a special place in both our hearts and is a forever companion to our dear Skye. We will keep in touch as he gets bigger...the first thing anyone notices on him are his paws!! They are the same size as the palm of my hand!!

Beth Hansen
