About Us

Here at MeyerBlue Kennels our goal is to produce top quality boerboels for working, show, family pets and protection.  I began researching this breed 4 years ago, and in June of 2005, I decided that they were right for me. Their love, loyalty, and drive has pushed me to do whatever I can to help establish this great breed. They are not for everyone and anyone looking into them, needs to meet them in person and choose a good reputable breeder to talk to. I'd be happy to assist in any questions you may have!

One of our highest priorities is making sure the health and well being of our dogs comes first. From top of the line veterinary care and service.  We currently use Dr. Zeplin of Lone Star Animal Hospital for all our testing, treatments and care.
Any testing reports or health records on our dogs are available at your request. Please feel free to give them a call for references! I encourage every potential buyer to do so on any breeder they look into.

Our dogs have the constant love and companionship of our family and other livestock and pets.
Our dogs are kenneled in a 7 ft high weld wire kennels, reinforced  on the perimeters with electric fencing to prevent break outs and escaping. Their kennel room is approximately30ft long by 18 ft wide kennel area. The kennel is placed strategically under our 100 + yr old oak trees for constant shade, and is located at the West end of our house closest to our bedroom so we can have a constant watch on them.
They have standing wood feeders to prevent bloat and keep their food off the ground, a constant automatic water source and comfy dog houses are always at their disposal.
We allow our dogs free roam of our property when we're home. They have plenty of exercise and loads of training during this time. Not to mention all the love from us! Our dogs are never unsupervised!

Daily enrichment and training is a big part of our everyday lives. We spend hours every day doing basic training and reinforcements.  We love to take our dogs to the park, PetSmart, and other places for socialization and feel that it is a KEY factor in raising good socialized dogs.

To keep my "kids" from getting bored during the day they have several toys, enrichment games (treat balls and stuffed Kong's), chews and rawhide bones.
They also have a small radio that plays soft music when we are not home. We currently have personal fans with misters and a small plastic pools to keep cool in the summer!   This of course changes on a daily basis, when we're home the dogs are inside with us where we can be a family and spend time with each other.

We currently have two locations. One in a small rural town of Rock Island, Texas where we spend most of our weekends, and during the week we have a place in the country in Victoria, Texas. Our dogs go everywhere we go. There's not a day goes by our dogs aren't by our sides!
